When you’re branding glass bottles for perfumes, candles, or reed diffusers, the logo printing method makes a big difference. It affects how your product looks, feels, and lasts.
At Yue Lian Technology, we offer three main logo techniques for glass containers: silk screen, hot stamping, and decal transfer (decal hot stamping). Each has its own strengths.
Below is a quick comparison to help you decide which one fits your brand and budget.
Comparison Table
| Printing Method | Finish | Durability | Best For | Cost | Sample Lead Time |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Silk Screen | Flat, matte or glossy | High | Large batches, multi‑color logos | Medium | 3–5 days |
| Hot Stamping | Metallic, slightly raised | Medium–High | Premium / luxury look | Higher | 5–7 days |
| Decal Transfer | Very fine details, can be metallic | Medium | Complex logos, small batches | Highest | 5–7 days |
1. Silk Screen Printing – Cost‑Effective & Durable
Silk screen printing is the most common method for glass bottles. Ink is pressed through a mesh screen onto the glass surface, then cured to become permanent.
Advantages
- Works well for large quantities
- Many color options (Pantone matching available)
- High durability – resistant to scratching and washing
- Medium cost, good value for most brands
Limitations
- Flat finish (no raised texture)
- Not ideal for very fine gradients or extremely small text
Best for: Candle jars, perfume bottles, diffuser bottles with solid color logos.
2. Hot Stamping – Premium Metallic Finish
Hot stamping uses heat and pressure to transfer a metallic foil (gold, silver, rose gold, etc.) onto the glass. The result is shiny, slightly raised, and very elegant.
Advantages
- Premium, high‑end appearance
- Slightly raised texture – adds tactile quality
- Great for luxury perfumes, gifts, or limited editions
Limitations
- Higher cost than silk screen
- Limited to metallic colors (gold, silver, copper, etc.)
- Slightly longer sample lead time
Best for: Luxury perfumes, high‑end candle jars, branded gift sets.
3. Decal Transfer (Decal Hot Stamping) – Most Detailed & Most Expensive
Decal transfer combines ceramic decal printing with a hot stamping‑like effect. The logo is first printed on a special decal paper, then transferred to the glass and fired or heat‑pressed.
Advantages
- Extremely fine details – even complex artwork is possible
- Can achieve metallic or multi‑color effects
- Ideal for small batches or intricate designs
Limitations
- Highest cost among the three methods
- Requires more production time
- Not necessary for simple, large‑area logos
Best for: Complex brand marks, small‑batch artisanal products, highly detailed logos.

Which Method Should You Choose?
Here’s a simple guide based on your priorities:
| If you want… | Choose… |
|---|---|
| Lowest cost + large quantity | Silk screen |
| Premium metallic look + raised feel | Hot stamping |
| Very fine details + complex design | Decal transfer (higher cost) |
